Eye Emergency

Description:
Eye emergencies can consist of an infection, foreign body or chemical in your eye, or an injury or burn in or near the eye area. Any of these situations can lead to partial vision loss or permanent blindness if not treated appropriately and promptly.

JEFFREY EDWARDS, O.D.
JEFFREY EDWARDS, O.D.
Dr. Edwards was born and raised in Duncan, Oklahoma. He graduated from Duncan High School in 2000. After graduating high school he attended the University of Central Oklahoma where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Dr. Edwards was then accepted into Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry where he graduated with a Doctorate in Optometry in 2008. He joined his brother-in-law, Dr. Jody W. Atchley, in practice and they formed Duncan Family Eye Care in June of 2008.

PAYTON ATCHLEY, O.D.
Dr. Payton Everett Atchley grew up in Duncan, OK and graduated from Duncan High School in 2011. He played football and wrestled through high school and is still a big sports fan today. He then attended the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Exercise Science. After that, he attended optometry school at Northeastern State University College of Optometry and graduated with the class of 2021. Dr. Payton is excited to be back in his hometown of Duncan, OK and serving the Stephens County community!

WHITNEY COX, O.D.
Dr. Cox grew up in Duncan, Oklahoma and graduated from Duncan High School in 2006. She attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Multidisciplinary Studies and a minor in Spanish in 2009. Dr. Cox studied optometry at Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry where she graduated summa cum laude with her Doctorate of Optometry in May 2015.

Dr. Atchley grew up in Duncan, Oklahoma. He graduated from Duncan High School in 1985. Dr. Atchley attended Northeastern State University for both his undergraduate and graduate studies. He graduated from optometry school, summa cum laude, in 1992. Dr. Atchley and his wife Tamra have three children, all graduates of Duncan High School. Dr. Atchley enjoys golf, running, playing bass guitar, and a general active lifestyle. Dr. Atchley is an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Duncan.
